Prof. Susanna Esposito

Susanna Esposito is Full Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Parma and Director of the Pediatric Clinic at the Pietro Barilla Hospital of the University Hospital of Parma. You are President of the World Association for Infectious Diseases and Immunological Disorders (WAidid). Degree in Medicine and Surgery cum laude, with specialization in Pediatrics and, subsequently, in Infectious Diseases . She was Director, first, of the Simple Operational Unit of Pediatric Infectious Diseases , then of the Pediatric Clinic I and from 2010 to 2016 of the High Intensity Pediatrics Unit at the IRCCS Ca' Granda Foundation Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico of the University of Milan. From 2017 to 2019 she was Director of the SC Pediatric Clinic at the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Perugia. Since 1 January 2017 he has also assumed the following roles: • Director of the Umbria Regional Reference Center for Pediatric Diabetes. • Director of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory (Regional Reference Laboratory for the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis) at the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Perugia. Director of the Post-natal Cytogenetics Laboratory at the Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Perugia. Director of the School of Specialization in Paediatrics at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Perugia (since 28 December 2016). From 2012 to 2015 she was President of the World Health Organization Commission for the eradication of measles and congenital rubella and currently participates in the work of the Commission as Past President. Since 2013 she has been the coordinator of the Vaccine Study Group (EVASG) of the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
